An 18-year-old youth who is said to have tried to rape a female worshiper at the Pentecostal church’s toilet while easing herself has been remanded to Luzira prison.
The suspect is identified as Mugambagye Faizo, a resident of Kalerwe zone Kawempe Division 18-year-old Remanded Over Attempt To Rape A Female Worshiper In Toilet in Kampala district.
He appeared before Buganda Road Court chief magistrate Ronald Kayizzi, who did not allow him to plead to the said charge since it is a capital offence that is only tried and bailed by the High Court.
It’s alleged that on August 6th 2024 at Kalerwe zone in Kawempe division, the accused attempted to rape a woman in the toilet.
Court heard that in the evening of August 6th 2024 the victim went to God Cares International Ministries Church Kalerwe to pray, but the accused later followed her ro the toilet where she had gone and forced his way inside the toilet room.
Evidence shows that he tried to undress her and raise her but she was rescued by other worshippers who had her screaming. The suspect was arrest and handed over to police.
He has remanded until the 30th August 2024 when the case comes up for further mention.
