UPC’S Win Will Help Us Prepare For 2026 Elections Says Jimmy Akena

The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) Party President Mr Jimmy Akena has said that the party’s win in the Dokolo Woman MP by-elections that were held on 21st Thursday 2024.

The Uganda Election Commission on 21st Thursday 2024 declared Sarah Aguti Nyangkori who was under the UPC ticket as the winner of the just concluded by-election.

Aguti got 23044 votes followed by NRM’s Janet Adongo who also 14001, and FDC’s Dr. Rose Mary Alwoc Ogwal was the third with 8168 votes.

Akullo Esther Obot, who was the independent candidate, got 790 votes. NUP’s Harriet Ageno got 727 votes and was fifth. Another independent, Arao Rebecca, got 439 votes and was last.

Akena thinks UPC deserved to win because they worked hard for it and because the Dokolo people trust Aguti. He also promised Dokolo residents better social and economic development.

Akena is happy with the results. He believes this win will help UPC prepare for the 2026 elections by mobilizing more support.

Akena says this victory is part of UPC’s plan to get ready for the 2026 elections.
