Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, this cinematic masterpiece delves into another pivotal chapter of Nigerian history, revealing the untold truths and gripping drama surrounding the iconic 1977 World Festival of African Arts (FESTAC 77).

76 captivated audiences and critics alike with its riveting portrayal of love, loyalty, and political turmoil during Nigeria’s post-civil war era. Directed by the visionary Izu Ojukwu, the film was celebrated for its authenticity, emotional depth, and attention to historical detail. Building on this legacy, 77: The FESTAC Conspiracy promises to take the storytelling to new heights, exploring the intricate web of conspiracies and power struggles behind Africa’s largest cultural festival.

“77: The FESTAC Conspiracy is not just a film it is a tribute to the resilience and creativity of African people. Through this film, we aim to celebrate our rich history while shedding light on the untold stories that shaped FESTAC 77,” said director Izu Ojukwu.

Featuring a powerhouse cast including Ramsey Nouah, Rita Dominic, Soibifaa Dokubos, and Adonijah Owiriwa who also serves as the executive producer the film immerses viewers in the vibrant yet turbulent atmosphere of 1970s Nigeria. With its rich storytelling and stunning visuals, 77 continues the tradition of using cinema as a lens to explore the cultural and political complexities of Nigeria.

“FESTAC 77 was a defining moment for Africa, uniting the continent through art and culture. This film captures that spirit while uncovering the hidden layers of drama and sacrifice behind the scenes,” shared Adonijah Owiriwa.

Reflecting on the impact of 76 and the promise of its sequel, Kene Okwuosa, Group CEO, Filmhouse Group, FilmOne Enterainment & Filmhouse Cinemas, remarked: “We are thrilled to be part of bringing 77: The FESTAC Conspiracy to audiences across the globe.
