Ugandan singer Joseph Mayanja, famously known as Jose Chameleone, is currently in the United States for treatment and recovery.
Recently re-admitted to the hospital, he shared an update on his health through a video posted on his social media.
In the video, Chameleone, from his hospital bed, revealed that he is scheduled to undergo pancreatic surgery to remove unwanted enzymes.
He also addressed rumours circulating online, specifically a claim made by content creator Janie Namukasa.
On February 18, 2025, Namukasa alleged on social media that Chameleone had not been admitted but was instead jailed for assaulting his caretaker, Juliet Zawedde.
The singer firmly denied the allegations and expressed his disbelief at why anyone would spread such misinformation.
He cautioned against the dangers of spreading false information for the sake of attention, emphasizing the potential consequences of such actions.
Chameleone concluded the video by thanking everyone who is keeping him in their prayers and promised to share further updates once the procedure is complete.
