Reigning Miss Uganda, Hannah Karema, skillfully dodged inquiries from journalists regarding her alleged connection with renowned artist Eddy Kenzo at a recent press conference. Amidst persistent queries about their rumored relationship, Karema tactfully redirected the attention to Kenzo himself.
The speculations surrounding their association stemmed from Kenzo’s involvement in Karema’s triumphant return from the Miss World pageant in India, where she achieved a remarkable top 8 finish. Kenzo reportedly facilitated her airport pickup in a 2023 model Cadillac Escalade V.
During the press interaction, Karema remained tight-lipped on the matter, urging reporters to address their questions directly to the singer. “Perhaps you should direct those inquiries to him. Why do you keep directing them at me? I haven’t seen you questioning him,” she retorted, hinting at a desire to avoid unnecessary conflict.
Pressed further about her relationship with Kenzo, Karema emphasized the diversity of her social circle, implying that any previous associations were now in the past. “I have numerous friends apart from him… whatever you observed or speculated about is in the past; we are moving forward,” she asserted.
Weeks earlier, Kenzo had refuted any involvement with Karema and disclaimed ownership of the Escalade allegedly used for her airport pickup.
Karema made these statements during the launch of the Miss Uganda 2024 search, where she pledged unwavering support for her successor. Drawing from her Miss World experience, she expressed her commitment to providing guidance to the next beauty queen, aiming for an even better performance.
With the search for Miss Uganda 2024 set to commence in West Nile and extend to other regions before the Kampala preselection event, Karema’s words underscored her dedication to empowering the future representative of Ugandan beauty on the global stage.
