Security bodies spearheaded by the Counter Terrorism Unit have called upon all Ugandans to stay away from politicizing Kabaka’s birthday run scheduled for tomorrow Sunday, April 7, 2024.

During the press conference held at Bulange-Mengo, Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire said that the event is a cultural celebration which will bring over 100,000 participants.

The Minister for Youth, Sports, and Talent in the Buganda kingdom, Mr Robert Sserwanga, reassured the public that security measures would be in place to ensure the safety of all attendees.

He urged participants to adhere to the schedule, emphasizing that gates will open promptly at 5:00 am.

Demonstrating solidarity, numerous companies and political figures have generously contributed to the event. These contributions include Shs50 million from the office of the national chairman, led by Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, Shs12 million from the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), and Shs5 million from the Uganda Red Cross, among others.
