Gravity Omutujju, a prominent figure in the music industry, boldly stated that he doesn’t rely on Bobi Wine’s endorsement to thrive in his career.

During a candid discussion on a TikTok live session hosted by comedian Kabata, Omutujju addressed perceptions linking his success to his association with Bobi Wine.

Dismissing the notion that Bobi Wine’s support propelled his career, Omutujju emphasized the importance of self-reliance.

He urged Bobi Wine to extend his support to other artists within his circle before focusing on him, citing individuals within Bobi Wine’s record label who could benefit from such assistance.

Highlighting his longevity in the industry, Omutujju asserted that his career predates Bobi Wine’s political involvement.

Despite acknowledging a lack of animosity towards Bobi Wine, Omutujju reiterated his independence from any perceived reliance on the political figure.

The relationship between Gravity Omutujju and Bobi Wine has been marked by occasional tensions. Although they collaborated on a song titled “Batujoozenyo” in 2020, tensions arose when Bobi Wine did not actively promote the release, leading to friction between the two artists.

Despite these challenges, Omutujju has remained vocal about his career trajectory and asserted his autonomy from external endorsements.

Omutujju’s stance underscores the complexities within Uganda’s music industry and highlights the importance of artistic independence in navigating political affiliations.
