This year, Insurance Week will run from Monday, 10th March, to Thursday, 13th March 2025, at Millennium Park, Formerly KCCA grounds in Lugogo, opposite MTN-Omondi stadium.

‘’This year’s theme, “Redefining Insurance: Trust, Innovation, and Inclusivity,” highlights our need to continuously build public confidence in the insurance industry through transparency and foster inclusivity by making insurance accessible and beneficial to all.’’ Said Alahaji Kaddunabbi Lubega, the CEO of Insurance regulatory Authority.

He said that ‘’Insurance plays a critical societal role in protecting individuals and businesses against unforeseen circumstances. It also supports the smooth functioning of economies and contributes to financial stability.’’

The weeklong event will among comprise:

  • Promote insurance awareness among the public to stimulate demand and ensure consumer protection. We want the population to know and understand what insurance is and how it works.
  • Showcase the different players in the insurance market and their respective roles in the insurance ecosystem.
  • Open a Complaint Bureau Desk, dedicated to receiving, registering and guiding on any insurance-related grievances from the public.
  • Give back to the community through Corporate Social Responsibility.

Several activities have been lined up during the four-day event, including free consultation on all insurance matters, a medical camp set up for blood donation, free eye checkups, and body checkups.

Similar engagements will also be held at the IRA Regional Offices in Gulu, Mbarara and Mbale.

”We are cognizant of the misconceptions and gaps in awareness that challenge the growth of this sector. The Insurance Week is thus envisioned to bridge this by providing a space where industry players can demonstrate the value of insurance and address the unique challenges faced by Ugandans. Therefore, all licensed industry players and key stakeholders will attend this event, which will showcase the different products and services pertinent to individuals, families, the business community, and all unforeseen risks. Presentations on policyholders’ rights and obligations, career talks, and interactive sessions with insurance experts will be held.” Mr Kaddunabbi added.

”Let me take this opportunity to invite all Ugandans, both insured and prospective ones, to come to Millennium Park in large numbers and learn how to use insurance to protect themselves and their families against potential losses orchestrated by numerous risks inherent in our daily lives and endeavours.” He  remarked
