President Museveni has pledged to help the 52 clan heads in Buganda (Bataka) develop the 2.2-acre land he gifted to them last year.
The clan leaders over the weekend met with President Museveni at State House- Entebbe.
The delegation was led by the Minister of State for ICT, Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo.
During the meeting, the leaders expressed their need to construct two buildings on the 2.2-acre piece of land that was gifted to them by the president.
They said the buildings will house cultural resource centres such as a museum and a theatre.
In response, President Museveni agreed to set up the buildings for them using the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Engineering Brigade.
He also pledged to support the Bataka Sacco with Shs200 million.
The president encouraged the clan leaders to preach the NRM wealth creation message to the masses.
The meeting  was a follow-up meeting, following an interaction between the two parties last year.
The Buganda clan leaders last year came under fire for meeting President Museveni without authorization from the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga.
During the first meeting, the clan heads asked the president to help them purchase a piece of land which would among others house their offices.
The president accepted the request and bought the land, located along Kabaka Anjagala road near the Buganda Kingdom headquarters.
The clan heads would later be tasked to explain the outcome of the meeting to the Buganda Lukiiko(parliament).
The meeting between the Buganda clan heads and President Museveni is said to have been brokered by ICT Minister, Joyce Ssebuggwawo, who previously serve as a minister in Buganda cabinet.
She also played a key role in  the restoration of the kingdom in 1993.
