A Woman Arrested For Cutting Of Husband’s Genitals

A woman who has been in hiding for almost a month after cutting off the genitals of her husband in Kamuli has been arrested.

Susan Namuganza, 34 chopped off her husband, Moses Kawubanya, 45’s genitals last month before fleeing into hiding.

On Tuesday, police arrested Namuganza from her sister’s home in the Namutumba district where she had run to.

Busoga North Region Police spokesperson Micheal Kasadha said the suspect was got from her sister’s place where she has been hiding since the heinous act.

On arrest, Namuganza said she was sorry for what she had done.

Police said that the incident happened on June, 10 when Kawubanya wrapped a towel around the waist after bathing, only for the wife to pounce on him.

“According to police, when the couple’s three-month-old baby started crying, Namuganza woke up and the victim thought she was getting milk for the baby but unfortunately, on coming back, she jumped on him cutting his genitals.

Kawubanya sought refugee at the neighbour’s home who rushed him to hospital for treatment but it was announced he would never be able to sire children.

Police said the suspect will soon be arraigned in courts of law.
