Fast rising Uganda Pop star Dreventy has revealed his dream musical collaborator as well as breaking news of more new tunes being on the way.
While on his ongoing promo for his new single “With Me’, speaking exclusively to Jiame Joshua on the Urban Vybez show on Record Radio 97.7 FM, when asked he shared the name of the person he’d loved to hit the recording booth with.
“My dream collaborators… I would definitely pick Chris Brown, because I mean, he’s Chris Brown,” he said. “I’m a huge fan of his, been a huge fan for ages.” On the Ugandan scene, he noted that Allan Toniks fitted the bill perfectly.
When asked why Toniks and what makes him special, Dreventy noted that the “Awo” singer is one person he has looked up to for a long time and that he creates songs that are timeless. “He has the thing in him, where even songs he recorded five years ago, they still hit. And that’s something I am also working towards.”, he noted.
Getting that Toniks feature may not be far fetched since both of them make the same type of music, timeless music, with soulful lyrics.
While on the show, he also addressed his almost two-year hiatus, letting listeners know that he had been working on family business, and then went on to announce that he’s back, this time for good. He additionally revealed that as he promised, he’ll be releasing a single every month till the end of this year.
Dreventy also made mention of working on some collaborations, on musical projects, and that he has his eyes on making some performances as well.
The “Check on Me” singer stormed the music scene with a chain of singles, and ultimately an EP “Blue Detail” composed of 5 absolutely fantastic songs in 2022. He’s been able to manage to craft himself a name, thanks to his creative lyrics and massive pop vocal ability to back it. His most recent offering prior to “With Me” was “Ma Way”.
