Gloria Asio Omaswa has been appointed as the new Principal Private Secretary by President Museveni. Gloria Asio is a communications professional.
Gloria Asio replaces Kenneth Omona who is now the Miniter of State, Office of the Prime Minister Northern Uganda in a recent Cabinet change that was announced last night on 21st Thursday, March 2024.
In the same line, Irene Birungi who was the private secretary for administration at the President’s Office has been taken to the Public Service Ministry for deployment.
“In a message on the X platform this Friday morning, Omona expressed gratitude to everyone for their support as his time as Principal Private Secretary to President Museveni comes to an end. He also thanked President Museveni for the opportunity to serve our nation.”
Asio has more than 20 years of experience in the communication industry across East Africa, Europe, and North America. She studied law at Makerere University, attended the Law Development Centre, and later pursued a master’s degree in communication strategy at the Brand Centre, VCU, USA.
